Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose and Scope of This Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines the acceptable and prohibited uses of ByteNodes hosting services, including but not limited to Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Game Servers, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) services, Discord Bot Hosting, Website Hosting, and all related infrastructure and network services. This policy applies to all users, customers, resellers, and any other parties who access or use ByteNodes services. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all users can enjoy reliable, secure, and high-quality hosting services while preventing activities that may harm our infrastructure, other customers, or third parties.

2. General Prohibited Activities

Users of ByteNodes services are strictly prohibited from engaging in any activities that are illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or that violate the rights of others. This includes but is not limited to: conducting any illegal activities or activities that violate applicable local, national, or international laws; engaging in fraud, identity theft, or other deceptive practices; infringing upon the intellectual property rights of others, including copyright, trademark, and patent violations; transmitting content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, or invasive of privacy; distributing or hosting content that exploits, harms, or endangers children in any way; engaging in activities that could damage the reputation of ByteNodes.

3. Network and System Security Violations

Users must not engage in any activities that compromise the security, integrity, or availability of our network, systems, or the systems of others. Prohibited security-related activities include: launching or facilitating Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, network flooding, or other forms of network attacks against any target; attempting to gain unauthorized access to any computer system, network, data, or information belonging to ByteNodes or third parties; scanning, probing, or testing the vulnerability of any system or network without explicit authorization; intercepting, monitoring, or tampering with network traffic or communications without authorization; distributing or hosting malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any other malicious software.

4. Email and Communication Abuse

ByteNodes has a zero-tolerance policy for email abuse and spam. Users are prohibited from: sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) or commercial email without proper consent from recipients; sending email messages that forge, misrepresent, or conceal the sender's identity, origin, or routing information; harvesting, scraping, or collecting email addresses or other contact information without consent; operating open mail relays or open proxies that could be used for spam distribution; sending email that contains malware, phishing links, or other malicious content; engaging in email bombing or overwhelming recipients with excessive messages.

5. Resource Usage and Fair Use

Users must use ByteNodes resources responsibly and in accordance with their service plan limitations. Prohibited resource-related activities include: exceeding the allocated resources for your service plan, including CPU, RAM, bandwidth, and storage limits; running cryptocurrency mining operations without explicit written permission from ByteNodes; running resource-intensive applications that negatively impact other customers or our infrastructure; using services in a manner that places an unreasonable burden on our network, servers, or support resources; attempting to circumvent resource limits or quotas through technical means.

6. Content Restrictions and Prohibited Content

Users are prohibited from hosting, storing, distributing, or linking to certain types of content on ByteNodes services. Prohibited content includes: any content that is illegal under applicable law, including but not limited to content that violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights; child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or endangers minors; content that promotes or facilitates terrorism, violence, or hate crimes; phishing websites, fake login pages, or other content designed to deceive users and steal personal information; pirated software, games, movies, music, or other copyrighted material distributed without authorization.

7. Consequences of Policy Violations

ByteNodes takes violations of this Acceptable Use Policy seriously and will take appropriate action against users who violate these terms. Consequences may include: warning notifications for minor or first-time violations, with a specified period to correct the issue; temporary suspension of services while we investigate potential violations; immediate termination of services without refund for serious or repeated violations; permanent ban from using any ByteNodes services in the future; cooperation with law enforcement agencies for illegal activities; legal action to recover damages caused by policy violations.

8. Reporting Violations and Contact Information

If you become aware of any violations of this Acceptable Use Policy, please report them immediately to our abuse team. You can report violations by sending an email to support@bytenodes.id with a detailed description of the violation, including any relevant evidence such as screenshots, logs, or URLs. You can also report violations through our support ticket system or by contacting us through our Discord server. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

9. Policy Updates and Modifications

ByteNodes reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We may provide notice of material changes through email or prominent website announcements, but we are not obligated to do so. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically and stay informed of any updates. Your continued use of our services after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
